Better work items, faster – with the new Rovo editor toolbar in Jira
We’ve all been there: you create a new Jira work item, and the description field stares back at you, blank. You know what you want to say, but getting from rough idea to clear, useful description takes time – time you’d rather spend on actual work. The new editor toolbar in Jira brings Rovo right into the editor, so you can draft, rewrite, and polish content in place.
How it works
Go from rough idea to ready-to-ship description
Start with a title, a few bullet points, or even just a vague idea. Open the Rovo menu in the editor toolbar and ask it to draft a full description – complete with requirements, acceptance criteria… anything you need. Instead of writing from scratch, you’re editing and refining, which is a lot faster.
Clean up what you’ve already written
Got a messy description from meeting notes or a quick brain dump? Highlight text and use the toolbar to rewrite, shorten, change tone, or translate – all without copying anything into a separate tool. The work stays in Jira, right where your team will see it.
Watch Rovo work in real time
Rovo streams its suggestions directly into the editor so you can see what’s being written as it happens. You’re always in control: review the output, tweak what needs tweaking, undo anything that doesn’t fit. If you’d rather approve each change before it’s applied, just toggle off auto-apply in your Rovo settings.
Built for everyone who uses Jira
Whether you’re an engineer writing a bug report, a PM detailing a feature spec, or a support lead logging a customer problem, the toolbar works in descriptions and comments across Jira and Jira Service Management. No setup required.
