One place for everything attached to your work

Jira work items accumulate context over time: a spec in Confluence, a walkthrough in Loom, a handful of design files uploaded as attachments. But until now, those resources lived in three separate sections on the work item, each with its own UI. The more context a work item had, the more you had to scroll and scan across different areas just to find the right file.

The Attachments section has been redesigned to bring all of that into one place. Confluence pages, Loom videos, and uploaded files now appear together in a single consolidated section, with type filters and a new grid view so you can actually find what you're looking for.

How it works

  1. Everything in one section

Confluence pages, Loom videos, and file uploads all appear together in a single Attachments section. The separate Confluence and Loom sections are gone. If a Confluence page mentions the work item, it still shows up here automatically with the relationship detail available on hover.

  1. Filter by attachment type

When a work item has a lot attached to it, tabs let you narrow down to exactly what you need: All, Images, Videos, or Documents.

  • A developer looking for the spec can filter to Documents and skip past the screenshots

  • A designer can filter to Images and see just the mockups

  1. Grid view for visual browsing

The old strip view showed about four items at a time and required clicking left and right arrows to scroll through. The new grid view shows up to three rows of visual previews at a glance, making it much easier to scan and compare when there are a lot of resources in the section. You can toggle between grid and list view depending on how you prefer to browse.

  1. One button to add anything

Instead of separate buttons for uploading a file, linking a Confluence page, or attaching a Loom, there's now a single "Add attachment" entry point. Search by title or paste a URL to link multiple items at once from one place.

How to get started

The unified Attachments section is rolling out now and will appear automatically on your Jira work items. Existing attachments, linked Confluence pages, and Loom videos are consolidated into this new section with no action needed.

For admins: This change is automatic and applies across all Jira Cloud plans. Existing permissions and security models are fully maintained and third-party integrations are unchanged.
